Before You Begin

To be successful in your Online courses, you will need to have a computer capable of accessing course materials, a knowledge of how to use Blackboard Vista, and the ability to schedule and manage your time accordingly.  Online courses are NOT easier than a face-to-face class.  In fact, you will find the course content to be the same only delivered in a different manner.  What you need to do is (right from the beginning) is to schedule a set time to work on your course, pay attention to course deadlines, and, above all, know how to get in touch with your instructor when you have questions.  When you are ready to start your class on the first day of the semester, click on the Login link and you should be set to go.

Login to Blackboard Vista.  Click here to Login and begin your Online course.  Be sure to visit the links below first to make sure that your computer is ready to access your course and you know how to Blackboard Vista.

Computer Specifications and Downloads.  Use this link to access computer specifications to ensure that your equipment will access your Online courses properly.  You will also find links to downloads for various drivers that you may not already have.

Blackboard Vista Tutorial.  This link will take you to a page with demos on how to determine your username and password, and how to use the various components of Blackboard.

People You Need to Know.  This link will guide you to key people other than the faculty who teach your class.  These are your contacts in Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Technical Support, and anyone else we can think of.

Campus Resources.  This page will give you links to valuable resources on the website including Academic Advisement & Calendars, bookstore, library, and your Dmail email account.
