This site is for high school students seeking college credit while still in high school
The concurrent enrollment program is an opportunity for students to get a head start in college while completing the requirements for high school graduation. This program enables high school students to take college classes while they are in high school. At Dixie, the majority of concurrent enrollment students attend class on the DSC campus and are enrolled with regular college students. Concurrent enrollment is a privilege; therefore, it must be taken seriously.
At the end of fall and spring semester, the students receive a grade(s) on a Dixie State College transcript which is official and permanent. The grade will affect the Grade Point Average (GPA) for future scholastic progress including financial funding and the ability to receive a scholarship. These grades are also sent to the high school to be posted on the student's high school transcript. Concurrent enrollment is not available during the summer term.
A small percentage of concurrent enrollment courses are taught in the local high schools. Students taking classes on a high school campus complete the same requirements as any other student would on the college campus. However, they are located on a high school campus in a classroom with students also participating in the concurrent enrollment course. The admission/registration process is completed through the high school instructor once the college semester begins. High school instructors will be contacted with this information.
By clicking on Start Here, step-by-step information is provided to assist parents and high school students as they prepare to enroll in concurrent enrollment classes on the campus of Dixie State College. Please review all of this information before applying for admission and registering for classes, as it will answer most of your questions.
