1. All students are required to submit SAT, ACT or Accuplacer (known as the College Placement Test (CPT) at Dixie State College) scores before or when they submit their online admission/registration form. This is a college requirement. Please see the instructions listed below.
2. If you are a new concurrent enrollment student and have SAT, ACT or Accuplacer (College Placement Test - CPT) scores but have not submitted them yet, please send/bring the appropriate copy to the Dixie State College Administrative Assistant over Concurrent Enrollment. Our address is 225 South 700 East - St. George, UT 84770, and the office is located in the North Plaza Building, Office #147. Or you can fax a copy to (435) 879-4031. Students are required to provide this information only once, unless otherwise directed.
3. If you are a new concurrent enrollment student and have not completed the SAT, ACT or Accuplacer (College Placement Test (CPT), please make arrangements to take the Accuplacer (CPT) as soon as possible. You are required to pay $15.00 (subject to change) and the test will take approximately 1 ½ hours to complete. You will be tested in the areas of Math, English and Reading. No appointment is necessary to take this test; however, please contact the on-campus College Testing Center with questions regarding their testing hours, location, etc.. You can reach them at (435) 652-7696. If students’ attend high school in Hurricane, Utah, they can complete this test at the Dixie State College Hurricane Education Center, Monday through Thursday during the fall and spring semesters. Their building is not open during the summer semester. Their telephone number is (435) 652-7910. A valid ID is required to take this test. Students will not be enrolled in classes without test scores.
4. The Accuplacer (College Placement Test - CPT) can only be taken once in a 30 day period. You will be charged each time the test is taken. Please plan accordingly.
5. If you are a returning concurrent enrollment student and have provided SAT, ACT or Accuplacer scores, this information is not required again unless you have new test scores and you want to have them posted here. Please bring/send them to the Dixie State College Administrative Assistant as needed.
6. If you have Advanced Placement (A/P) scores that you want posted at Dixie State College, the college charges $25.00 per test. Therefore, please be prepared to pre-pay the applicable posting fee at the cashier's office, which is located on the second floor of the Student Service Center. Once this fee is paid, take your scores to the registrar's office to have them posted. Please refer to the college policy on the number of credits accepted at Dixie State College. 7. When choosing classes, please watch for prerequisites, test scores, labs/clinicals, and age requirements. Please review the placement test score comparison chart with questions regarding your test scores.
