Step 3 - Select courses from the "Approved List of Semester Classes" linked below

BEFORE APPLYING FOR ADMISSION  ON STEP 4, STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE THEIR CLASSES FOR THE APPROPRIATE SEMESTER, AS INDICATED BELOW.

1.     By clicking on the links below, you will find a current list of courses that meet the criteria for concurrent enrollment status. Concurrent enrollment classes are only available during the fall and spring semesters. Students are only registering for one semester at a time - fall classes in the spring (beginning in mid-April) and spring classes in the fall (beginning in mid-November).  A new list of current semester classes will be available once registration begins for the appropriate semester.  Concurrent enrollment is not available during the summer semester.

2.     Subjects include classes in general education and career and technical education. The list of classes have been approved for concurrent enrollment credit and state funding.  No tuition is required for these classes as the State of Utah provides funding for each student. However, students are required to pay the one-time admission fee of $35.00, purchase their own textbooks, and pay any class fees as listed under class requirements.

3.     Not all college classes are approved for concurrent enrollment funding.  Therefore, if classes are not included on the approved course list (as below), they are not eligible for state funding.   Students can only select classes from the approved concurrent enrollment list.  Students can't add self-pay classes (those that are not on the approved list) with their concurrent enrollment classes.  Block or online classes (except LIB 1010) are are not approved for concurrent enrollment students.

4.     When you click on the list of courses, you will find  "General Education" courses listed first and then "Career and Technical Education (CTE)" courses. Please note the days and times for each course as you may only register for one course in each time slot.

5.     AS YOU SELECT YOUR COURSES, WRITE DOWN THE 'CRN (Course Reference Number)', CLASS ID & SECTION NUMBER. YOU WILL NEED THIS INFORMATION WHEN YOU APPLY FOR ADMISSION.

6.     ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED YOUR CLASSES, GO TO STEP 4 - APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. ON THIS APPLICATION, THERE IS A BOX THAT SAYS 'REGISTER FOR CLASSES' AND THIS IS WHERE YOU PUT THE CRN, CLASS ID & SECTION NUMBER.  DO NOT REGISTER ON THE REGULAR COLLEGE WEB PAGE.  RETURNING STUDENTS MUST SEND THIS APPLICATION AGAIN, EACH SEMESTER.

7.     Course listings and course requirements are subject to change.  High school counselors, parents and students will notified of changes accordingly.

8.     Do not use information from prior semesters as classes are subject to change.  Once we begin the first week of the current semester, this schedule is no longer applicable to concurrent enrollment students.  Students will not be enrolled after the first week of the semester, which is in the best interest of the student.  It can be extremely difficult to catch up with assignments and tests after missing the first week of class.

9.     Short-term, block or online classes (except LIB 1010) are not available on the approved list.  These classes can be very challenging and we want students to be successful at Dixie State College.  Please do not make these requests.

10.   The Washington County School District and Tuacahn High School will not pay for students to repeat classes because of poor or failing grades. In fact, students receiving failing grades will not be approved to take classes in the following semester through the concurrent enrollment program.  This is due to state funding.  They can take classes at the college; however, they would be responsible to pay all of the tuition and fees that are required.
