This new national organization is devoted solely to the financial scholarship needs of Asian and Pacific Islander American students. Applications are due in March each year.

NAAPAE has established a scholarship fund with the donations from the National Education Association and the Southern California Edison Company. High school seniors and college juniors and seniors may participate in the scholarship program. Applications are due each January 31.

The OCA manages four scholarships:
- Gates Millennium Scholars for higher education scholarships for minority student leaders
- Avon Foundation scholarship to fund college scholarships for Asian Pacific American (APA) women who will be entering their first year of college
- United Parcel Service Gold Mountain Scholarship, which focuses on APAs who are the first in their family to attend college
- Verizon Scholarship program for financially disadvantaged APA high school seniors
