THE ANNIE ATKIN TANNER MEMORIAL POETRY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established in 1972 by Dr. Vasco M. Tanner to honor his wife Annie, the Tanner Fund awards three scholarship prizes each year to poets who attend Dixie State College. All poems submitted to The Southern Quill by DSC students receive consideration for the awards. To determine scholarship winners, our editorial staff carefully reviews and evaluates every poem which is submitted to the Quill by students. The editors then select the 10 strongest pieces from this pool and forward them to members of the Tanner family, who determine the first, second, and third place winners.
