It's not too late to apply for federal financial aid for the 2011-12 school year. Just follow the How to apply steps located in the Financial Aid Handbook.
-
Pell Grants for Summer 2012 - If you received your full Pell grant for both Fall and Spring semesters (attended full-time, 12 or more credits both semesters), you will not have any Pell grant eligibility remaining for the 2012 Summer semester. You may have remaining Pell eligibility for summer semester if you only attended one semester or attended part-time.
-
Repeat Courses - New this year: per new federal regulation, federal financial aid may not be used to pay for more than one repeat of a previously passed course (class) in which you received a grade A through D-. This new rule is effective July 1, 2011. (Example - A student takes Math 1010 and receives financial aid for the course; the student gets a grade of D. The student takes the course again, and receives financial aid again; this time the grade received is a C-. If the student wants to take the course yet again in order to improve the grade, he or she would NOT be able to receive financial aid again for this course. PLEASE NOTE: this student would be enrolled for 12 credit hours but will have Pell grant money disbursed for only 9 credit hours). There are NO exceptions to this federal rule.
