Ambassador Program 

The Ambassador program is a student leadership organization representing Dixie State College to potential students and their families as well as the community, state, nation, and world. Student Ambassadors aid the School Relations Department by giving campus tours, visiting high schools, attending college fairs, working in the office, and answering phone calls. Ambassadors work to provide potential students with a knowledge and understanding of college life at Dixie State College.
 
 

All scholarship applicants must first be admitted to Dixie State College to be considered.

Applications are due Feb 15.

Ambassador positions require full-time enrollment of at least 12 credit hours, maintaining a 3.0 GPA, and involvement at various Dixie State College functions.
 
A Complete Application Packet includes:  
                                                                                      
  1. Application form   Ambassador Application Form
  2. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
  3. One (1) page essay answering Why you would like to be a DSC Ambassador?” & “What you feel you can contribute to the Ambassador organization?”
  4. Five (5) minute “this is me” DVD... or a Scrapbook highlighting your interests
 

 

Qualities Ambassadors should posses:

 
  • A social personality which allows you to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to communicate clearly with prospective students in various situations and a professional customer service attitude with these students.
  • Computer skills efficient for data entry, marketing design, email communication.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with high school and college administrators.
  • A motivation to help future students through the college decision making process.
  • A willingness to plan and participate in special events such as open houses, service projects, high school visits, college fairs, Ambassador activities, etc.

Scholarship Rules 
Ambassadors Scholarships are awarded to students selected from the pool of applicants. Each Ambassador will receive a scholarship equal to current resident tuition. Ambassadors are required to maintain 'good standing" both Academically and in carrying out Ambassador duties.  Dixie State College policy does not allow for the stacking of scholarships. Students who receive an Academic Scholarship and an Ambassador Scholarship must choose one or the other.

Additional Leadership Scholarship Programs 

Sterling Scholar Scholarships are available to Utah high school winners attending Dixie State College directly out of high school. In order to be considered for this scholarship, recipients must present their Sterling Scholar Certificate to the Office of Financial Assistance, Scholarship Coordinator* by July 1st. (This is a one-year non-renewable scholarship. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other DSC scholarship, cannot exceed the cost of full tuition).

Student Body President scholarships are available to Utah High School Student Body Presidents attending Dixie State College directly out of high school. In order to be considered for this scholarship, recipients must submit proof of Presidency to the Office of Financial Assistance, Scholarship Coordinator*  by August 1st. (This is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other DSC scholarship, cannot exceed the cost of full tuition).
