Dixie State College is fortunate to have additional scholarship programs available to students. Each scholarship requires a separate application. Please read and follow the instructions, submit transcripts or other documents as required, by the designated deadline.
DSC Scholarship Associates
DSC Scholarship Associates awards full in-state tuition scholarships to qualified applicants based on the following requirements:
All applicants must be full-time students working toward a Bachelors' Degree at DSC. Candidates must have completed 30 credit hours with a 2.75 or higher GPA. Selection is based on a personal interview, financial need, and potential for academic success. Recipients must participate in "Fund Raising Events" sponsored by Scholarship Associates. Application
DSC Alumni - Golden Generation - Class Of '41 Scholarships
These awards are one-year scholarships based on academic merit and/or financial need. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other scholarship offered through DSC cannot exceed cost of Tuition and Fees.Application
DSC Student Alumni Association (SAA)
Dixie State College Student Alumni Association provides scholarships to students who become active participants in SAA. The goal of SAA is to help students realize that involvement is not only fun, but can also be a lifelong experience. This organization promotes pride and enthusiasm for Dixie State College. American Association of University Women (AAUW)
This is a $1.000 scholarship designed to assist women (over the age of 24) who are attending College for the first time, or are returning to college to complete a degree. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA from prior college enrollment, or a 2.0 High School GPA, in order to be considered. Application deadline is March 10th.More information. Application
American Association of University Women (AAUW) Millcreek High School
This is a $500 scholarship for Millcreek High School women students entering Dixie State College. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 high school GPA to be considered. Application deadline is March 10th.More information. Application
Institute For Continued Learning (ICL)
Offers a total of three, $500 scholarships to deserving students. Applicants must have attended at least one semester at DSC prior to applying. Minimum 3.0 GPA and "Full-Time" status. Recipients are required to complete a progress report at the end of the semester. April 1st Deadline. Application
Gordon Russell Scholarship in Honor of Shea'ton Russell
One scholarship each year to a Utah Resident with a GPA between 2.0 and 3.75 who is attending DSC as a full-time student. First consideration to students who have overcome a life challenge, is service oriented, and demonstrates financial need. One full tuition scholarship. Applicant must be a resident of Utah and a full-time, degree seeking student currently attending DSC, with a cumulative GPA between 2.0 and 3.75. Applicant must have completed or be currently enrolled in Pre-Calculus. Must not be receiving a Federal Pell Grant or DSC scholarships. Celebrity Concert Series Guild
Awards one-year scholarships in Performing Arts to high school graduates, and students who are currently attending DSC. Auditions are required. For details contact your high school counselor, the Fine Arts Department, or the DSC scholarship office. March 15th Deadline. Application
Dixie Garden Club
Awarded each year to entering Freshmen or Current Dixie State College students. Entering Freshmen must have a 3.0 High School Grade Point Average (GPA) or above.
Current DSC students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science program at DSC. Financial need is not a criterion, but may be considered on a case-by-case basis. April 11th Deadline. Application
Dixie Ladies of Elks Scholarship
Applicants for this scholarship must be full-time students in their second, third or fourth year of attendance at DSC ( 24 credit hours completed). Must have graduated from a local high school in Washington County and must be a US citizen. Dollar amount of award varied. April 15th deadline. Application
Dixie Garden Tour Scholarship: Sponsored by Dixie Garden Club, Lady Lions, American Association of University Women (AAUW) and Utah Business Women (UBW).
These four organizations have combined to offer scholarships that are designed for returning and current DSC students who have earned at least 30 credits. The number and dollar amount of these scholarships are dependent on the proceeds of the annual Garden Tour. Application deadline is March 28th. Application & Information
Carolyn Reinbold Scholarship
Carolyn Reinbold offers scholarships to deserving students who are working towards a Bachelors' Degree at DSC. Applicants must have an Associate's Degree or 62 earned credit hours, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. First priority given to health science majors and married students. Applicant must have financial need. Number of awards and dollar amounts vary. Application deadline is April 15th.
Washington County Republican Women "Embracing Our Heroes" Scholarship
Sponsors scholarships for Veterans (or spouses) of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, with priority given to member of the 222nd. Student must hold a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate "financial need". April 15th deadline.
Offers a $1,000 to $2,000 scholarship each year to a graduating high school senior from Washington County who will be attending Dixie State College. The Rulon D. Orton and Laprele Gubler Orton Scholarship
The Orton Scholarship awards a $1000 scholarship each year to three outstanding students. Applicants must have completed one semester at DSC, must be degree seeking and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above. For additional requirements please refer to the application. May 1st Deadline.Application
Southern Utah Trucking Association (SUTA)
Awards two scholarships each year to students attending Dixie State College. Applicants must be Utah residents, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to residents of Washington or Iron Counties, and to relatives of SUTA employees, however, anyone meeting the residency requirements is encouraged to apply. April 15th deadline. State Bank Of Southern Utah
offers yearly scholarships to high school graduates of local high schools: Dixie, Snow Canyon, Pineview, Millcreek, Desert Hills, Hurricane, and Tuacahn. Scholarship awards are administered though the Washington County School District Foundation. Applications should be sent to either the Foundation, or to one of the State Bank full services branches. Deadline is the second week in April. Application
Southern Utah Home Builders Association (SUHBA)
Each year, Southern Utah Home Builders Association (SUHBA) awards scholarships to deserving students attending college or vocational school. Preference for scholarships is given to students pursuing construction-related education, and students affiliated with SUHBA. The scholarship may be used to fund almost any post-secondary education, i.e., college or vocational, public or private. Recipients may be awarded up to $1,000 per academic year.
Application deadline
The deadline to submit the scholarship application is April 16, 2012. Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 17, 2012.

St. George Lady Lions
Awards a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the Local High Schools, as well as one to one current DSC student. Scholarships are awarded based upon "financial need" rather than on grades or academic performance. Winners are required to attend the scholarship tea on April 14th. The Southern Branch - Utah Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a full time college student pursuing a degree in Public Works/Engineering. Applicants must be residents of Utah. Application deadline is July.Application

Sterling Scholar
Scholarships are available to Utah high school winners attending Dixie State College directly out of high school. In order to be considered for this scholarship, recipients must present their Sterling Scholar Certificate to the Office of Financial Assistance, Scholarship Coordinator* by June 1st. ( This is a one-year non-renewable scholarship. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other DSC scholarship, cannot exceed the cost of full tuition ).
Student Body President Scholarships
Available to Utah high school student body presidents attending Dixie State College directly out of high school. In order to be considered for this scholarship, recipients must submit proof of presidency to the Office of Financial Assistance, Scholarship Coordinator* by June 1st. ( This is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other DSC scholarship, cannot exceed the cost of full tuition ).
