English Department Scholarship

The Allan & Suzan Payne English Scholarship awards $1,000 to an upper-level English major (60+ completed hours with at least 12 hours of English beyond 2010). Applicants must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Application deadline is March 15th. Additional Information Application

Education Department - Terrel H Bell Education Incentive Loan Program

All applicants must be classified as a "Resident" of Utah. Any student who has successfully completed at least 30 Dixie State College credits is eligible to apply. This scholarship can only be awarded to students who declare intent to complete the prescribed course of instruction required for a teaching certificate. Deadline: June 1st for Fall Semester. Business Department Scholarships

Applicants must be fully admitted to DSC to be considered for this scholarship. Priority will be given to students with Advanced Standing status. Application deadline is March 1st.Application

Communication Department - Dixie Sun Journalism Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work on the Dixie Sun student newspaper as editors, writers and photographers. Scholarship amounts vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class and require registering for courses. Freshmen through seniors are welcome to apply. Application deadline is March 1st. Communication Department - Radio Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work at KXDS 91.3, the Dixie State College radio station. Scholarship amounts vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class and require registering for courses. Freshmen through seniors are welcome to apply. Application deadline is August 31st. Additional Information

Applicants should be aware that these positions, may require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class (including some nights), and require registering for a Radio Practicum course (COMM 2280 or 3280) and a prerequisite course (COMM 1560). Audio editing and computer skills are necessary. Applicants must also have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. Scholarship amounts vary by position.

Positions:

Positions vary and will be customized by the radio instructor. Positions are by semester. Various duties may include, on air work, producing prerecorded content, writing and delivering radio news, scheduling music, promoting the radio station, public relations with other entities on campus, etc.

Communication Department - Television Production Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work in broadcast functions in the Dixie Broadcast Network. Scholarship amounts may vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class as determined by your faculty supervisor. All students regardless of class standing and major are welcomed to apply. However, experience in non-linear video editing and other aspects of television production is preferred. Awards are given by semester. Application deadline is at 5:00 pm on the first day of classes, each Fall and Spring semester. Additional Information
