We appreciate your interest in Dixie State College. Although you still have a couple of years left in high school, it's not too early to be thinking about college. So here are just a few pointers as you contemplate your future:
- Start Here: by filling out this form , we will begin sending you information about Dixie State College.
- Take a Campus Tour: fill out the campus tour request form . Come see our beautiful campus.
- Read the adventures of Dixie Students: Follow the lives of six Dixie State College students.
- Learn about yourself. What do you like to do? What are your interests? Your likes and dislikes? If possible, take classes in those areas and see if something "clicks." If nothing comes to mind, don't stress about it. You have plenty of time to figure out what you want to be when you grow up. Many "grown ups" still haven't figured that out yet.
- Find a balance between work and play. High school can be one of the funnest times of your life, but don't forget about your studies either. The grades you are now earning, and the tests you will be taking (i.e. ACT) are used by colleges and universities to award scholarships. Also, the work ethic you are establishing will carry with you and will have a huge impact on your future college and work career.
- Take the ACT (or SAT ) test. Also make sure to prepare as best you can for it. Many colleges use them for scholarship awarding, and also for placement into the appropriate college class. Of course you can take these tests over, but why not give them your best shot? There are numerous test preparation books --- or just do a " Google search " to find many online sources.
- Start thinking about where you would like to attend college . Whether you choose Dixie or another school, you will not regret your decision to further your education. We'd love to help you find out if DSC is a good fit for you, so please keep us in mind as you begin investigating colleges, and let us take you on a campus tour.
- Good Luck to you as you complete your high school career!
