Usernames and Passwords

Sometimes it can be confusing trying to keep track of your usernames and logins.  Here is more information on the terms that refer to these credentials and what they are used for.  Some terminology is only applicable to faculty/staff.

Dixie ID:   (also referred to as your Student ID number, Banner number, Employee number, DSC ID and/or User ID) is an 8 digit number, it can be found on your Campus ID card or by using this link:

Campus Username:  (also referred to as your Banner Third Party ID, Blackboard Username, Canvas Username and Dmail Username) This is the Username faculty, staff and students need to know to log-in to the Blackboard and Canvas systems.  Faculty and Staff do NOT in most cases use this for their email username on @dixie.edu email accounts.  Students do however use this Username as their Dmail username as-well-as for Blackboard and Canvas.  Use this link to lookup your Campus Username:

Password/PIN:  (also referred to as your Banner PIN, DSC Web Services PIN, Blackboard password, Canvas password and Dmail password) This password works for your Banner access, DSC Web Services, Blackboard, Canvas and Student Dmail.  If you do not know your Password/PIN, or the Password/PIN you enter doesn’t work, click "Forgot PIN?" from this page:

For Faculty/Staff only:

@dixie.edu - Email Username:  This username is requested and created when an email account creation form is filled out.  This username is in most cases different from the Campus Username.  Click the link to view the Employee Email Request Form:

@dixie.edu - Email Password:  This Password can only be looked up and changed by the Server Administration staff and/or the Helpdesk.  An @dixie.edu email password can be changed by the account user only if they know the current password and log in to https://mail.dixie.edu and under Options select Change Password.
