The classes you take in this department will form a good basic foundation for future study in criminal justice, foreign languages, history, humanities, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, and pre-law.  If you plan to major in these fields, come to the department offices in the  McDonald Building and speak  with one of the department=s well qualified professors about your future academic plans.

Be aware that according to a state-wide agreement in Utah, all students must take a course that teaches AAmerican institutions.@  At Dixie, you may take either of two courses to fill this requirementBHistory 1700 or Political Science 1100.  Make sure you register for one of these courses.

In the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will find the programs listed on the left of your screen. Select the ones about which you would like more information.
