Book Club-
Every three weeks this semester, the Outdoors Club Book Club will meet and discuss selected books on the American West and the environment. In the next meeting Louis L'Amour's Mojave Crossing will be discussed. For information email redrockoutdoorbookclub@hotmail.com or wrede@dixie.edu.
The next meeting on March 3 at 8 pm at Barnes and Noble. We will discuss Louis L'Amour's Mojave Desert.
Reading Questions:
1) How are men depicted in the book? What makes the hero attractive to readers? What values does he--a cowboy--embody? Could we argue that people today, and men specifically, are drawn to the cowboy?
2) What attitudes toward money does the book convey? Which characters are most interested by money, men or women?
