In Geocaching each member goes out into the environment and finds “geocaches.” During this trip, which usually means a decent hike to wherever the cache may be, geocachers are encouraged to do a thing called “Cache in, trash out,” which means that in addition to enjoying the natural environment, they help keep it beautiful and pick up any trash or garbage along the way.

The Nature Conservancy is an agency that promotes the protection of not only southern Utah’s Red Cliffs Desert Reserve but also of land all over the world including in Asia, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. They fight to preserve the beauty, animals, and environment that are in danger of being destroyed.

Dixie State College Red Rock Outdoors ClubWild Horse and Burro Adoption Program through the Bureau of Land Management

The BLM is doing its part to place wild range horses in homes. Because many horses live in Utah, the state has the Delta Wild Horse and Burro Facility, which is an adoption program, and a number of other facilities in the state, among which is the BLM holding and auctioning facility in Salt Lake City which hosts the Wild Horse and Burro Festival coming on May 21 and 22, 2010.

Dixie State College Red Rock Outdoors ClubMission statement: "to ensure the future of healthy habitats for wildlife and livestock through the application of progressive and adaptive management.” They seek to accomplish the above goal by working with private land owners in ways to improve grazing methods to help both wildlife and farm animals, partnering with state and federal agencies to help manage private and public landscapes, and improve habitats.
